So we have been at this since 2018; and in that time, we are nearing our 60th trip. I have been keeping tabs (so to speak) on all the places we have visited on this map below. What is unique about this interactive map is that each point has a story and up to 10 images I've taken at that location. You can zoom in, zoom out and pull the map around with a click and drag of the mouse. Oh and very important: In the upper right hand corner is " [ ] " Click that and you'll really take the full screen!
Everything I do, every file I create has a naming convection for date & time. First the year, month, day. Every files starts with the YYYYMMDD. This works in the computer world to organize files. Sometimes I add the time ( -HHMM ) but not here. Sometimes there might be a "-DD" for the end date of the trip. and then a D# that says what day into the trip this is. Then there's "Trip00XX". Sometimes a "Site0XX" if we are at a campground. Then a " - " starts the actual name of the trip. I try to be creative with the names. Sometimes they are whacky!
Once you click on a point a sidebar will open with the story and on top, the first image. If you click on the image it's possible for you to see it in full screen. There will be an " > " on the right side to slide to the next image and then there will be " < & a > " on both sides to cycle through all the images. On the top left there is a " <-- " which will take you back to the sidebar and the map.
The RV Icon means we had Hookups. Power, Water, Sewer.
The Tent Icon means we Boondocked. Completely Self Contained without Service hookups.
The Bed Icon or Hotel Icon says that we were MoochDocking. someplace. This usually means that very limited power and possibly a water connection were available. Primarily associated with parking on the street in front of a family member's home.
